Books in the Works

Jim has written several book and plays that are in various stages of publication and pre-publication.

How Eddie Got Rid of The Humbug Flu is a cute and heartwarming adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The play tells the heartwarming story of a young boy who can’t stand Christmas. The play takes place the day before Christmas vacation and is a wonderful play for students to perform. How Eddie Got Rid of the Humbug Flu is a self-published play. It is written as both a stage play and a video production. Both versions come in the booklet and setting and design suggestions are included. In the video production, camera angles and shots are also listed making the production of the play easier for the budding director.  This play is available for purchase at $14.95 and the purchaser can make copies for each person in the cast or involved in the production.  It comes on a CD in word format.

Stacy’s Beauty Rocks is a heartwarming story based on an event in Jim’s daughter’s life. In the picture book, Stacy finds some rocks on the playground at school and believes that they are beauty rocks. She decides to take them home to share with her mommy, but in the process faces teasing and ridicule from her friends and classmates. The last straw comes when she gets home and her older sister tells her they are just plain rocks. Stacy then feels she has been acting silly and foolish, and she throws the rocks in the trash before her parents get home from work. Children of all ages will be able to relate to the universal pain and warmth in this story. Readers will ultimately see that beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder, and there is much more then just sight involved in making something beautiful and special.

Jimmy T. “First Grader Four Eyes” is Jim’s newest and most hilarious work yet. Based on his own childhood exploits and those of his daughter Stacy, Jimmy T. promises to make youngsters laugh and adults laugh harder. Jimmy T. is going to begin first grade and being full of life and energy Jimmy T. will keep things in his classroom interesting and buzzing all the time. Those who have read excerpts of the book, or those who have had parts read to them by the author, are anxious for this work to come to completion and be published. Jim’s own daughter Stephanie who is in medical school calls home a few times a month to check on the progress. According to Stephanie, “It is the cutest and funniest book ever.”
